HonorFX review 2026: MT5 trading across 40 forex pairs and 275+ instruments

HonorFX is a Port Louis-based market-maker forex and CFD broker with no independently verified founding year. It claims Mauritius FSC licensing and uses a Labuan money-broker entity currently under a Labuan FSA business restriction, trading on MetaTrader 5 with Standard, Master, ECN and Premium accounts. It served retail clients across 40 currency pairs and 275+ instruments; honorfx.com now redirects to HonorPro, whose site names different companies.

What is HonorFX?

HonorFX is a forex and CFD (Contract for Difference) broker operating through Honor Capital Markets Limited entities. The company has its headquarters in Port Louis, Mauritius, and FXSharp classifies the business model as a market maker. Its founding year could not be independently verified during the current review. The broker's own materials identify separate Mauritius, Malaysia, and Saint Lucia entities under the same brand.

Website check, 30 September 2026: honorfx.com now redirects to honorpro.com. That site names Honor Holding Investments Limited (Hong Kong) as its owner and lists Honor Pro Mauritius Ltd, Sanabil Capital Ltd (Seychelles), Honor Pro Ltd (Saint Lucia) and Honor Financial Consultancy L.L.C (UAE) as its companies; it does not name Honor Capital Markets Limited. FXSharp has not verified a link between HonorPro and the HonorFX companies reviewed here, so this review describes HonorFX as it last operated.

The operating structure matters because each legal entity has a different regulatory status. The broker advertises retail access to forex, indices, shares, metals, futures, and other CFDs. Its official site states that clients can access more than 275 instruments, including 40 currency pairs. The same site lists MetaTrader 5 as the trading platform and promotes several account variants.

Is HonorFX regulated? Verification check

The current regulatory picture is mixed and requires entity-level verification. The broker states that its Mauritius company holds Financial Services Commission Mauritius authorization under Investment Dealer license GB20025826. That Mauritius license claim could not be independently confirmed in the public-register scan used for this review. The claim therefore remains unverified rather than treated as an active license.

The Malaysian entity presents a more serious current issue. The broker identifies Honor Capital Markets Limited in Labuan under license MB/21/0072. On 7 September 2026, the Labuan Financial Services Authority listed Honor Capital Markets Limited among restricted licensed entities. Labuan FSA states that restricted firms cannot conduct their licensed activities until the cited non-compliance is resolved (source: Labuan FSA Enforcement Actions, 7 September 2026).

The broker also discloses a Saint Lucia company registration number, 2023-00128. That is an International Business Company registration, not a verified retail investment-services license. No FCA, ASIC, CySEC, SEC, FINRA, or comparable Tier-1 retail authorization was verified for the broker.

Trading platform and MT5 access

The trading platform is MT5 (MetaTrader 5) as its core trading platform. The Malaysian customer agreement also identifies MetaTrader 5 as the software used to submit and manage transactions. MT5 supports charting, pending orders, automated Expert Advisors, and desktop or mobile access through the MetaTrader ecosystem.

The official site lists Standard, Master, ECN, Premium, and Swap-Free account options in its wider account set. ECN means Electronic Communication Network, a label commonly used for accounts with market-linked pricing. The broker advertises a starting spread, the gap between bid and ask prices, from 0.2 pip. Platform access is a functional strength, but it does not resolve the regulatory findings described above.

Red flags and warning signs

The strongest warning sign is the current Labuan business restriction. Labuan FSA says the listed entities face restrictions for non-compliance with minimum capital and/or other regulatory requirements. Honor Capital Markets Limited appears on that list as a money broker. The restriction remains relevant because the regulator says affected entities cannot conduct licensed activities until the issues are resolved.

A second issue is the gap between the broker's Mauritius claim and independent verification. The firm publishes FSC Mauritius license GB20025826, but the exact active record was not confirmed in the public-register scan. A third issue is geographic authorization. Spain's CNMV and France's AMF have both published warnings concerning the HonorFX website, which limits any inference from offshore registration alone.

What is the minimum deposit?

A current universal minimum deposit was not verified by FXSharp. The broker has published different account and promotion materials over time, so older deposit figures should not be treated as the current standard. The safest factual position is that the minimum deposit remains not verified for this review.

Trading conditions are clearer in other areas. The official site advertises maximum forex leverage, meaning trading exposure relative to deposited margin, of up to 1:1000. The Malaysian customer agreement sets lower limits for some asset classes, including 1:333 for metals and 1:100 for CFDs. It also states that leverage can be changed under specified conditions.

Is the broker on any regulator warning lists?

Yes. Spain's Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores, or CNMV, published an unauthorized-firm warning for honorfx.com and Honor Capital Markets Limited on 17 January 2022. CNMV stated that the firm was not authorized to provide specified investment services in Spain (source: CNMV public warning, 17 January 2022).

France's Autorité des Marchés Financiers, or AMF, added honorfx.com/fr to its Forex blacklist on 20 April 2022. The AMF page states that the website offered financial services or products without authorization in France (source: AMF Forex blacklist, 20 April 2022). These warnings concern authorization in those jurisdictions and are separate from the later Labuan restriction.

What do user complaints say?

User feedback is mixed rather than one-directional. A current public user-aggregate page showed 107 reviews during the September 2026 scan. Recent entries included positive comments about MT5 performance and execution, alongside negative claims involving withdrawals and regulatory concerns. These are user reports, not regulator findings, so they should be separated from official enforcement records.

The pattern matters because withdrawal complaints are operational claims that require account-level evidence. Public reviews cannot establish whether a disputed withdrawal resulted from compliance checks, payment processing, trading terms, or another cause. The stronger evidence in this review comes from the CNMV, AMF, and Labuan FSA records because those are regulator publications.

How to verify the license claims yourself

License verification should match the exact legal entity that appears in the account agreement. A brand name alone is not enough because one website can route clients to different companies. Use the following checks before relying on any regulation claim:

  1. Confirm the legal entity named in the client agreement and account-opening documents.
  2. Search that exact entity in the relevant regulator's public register.
  3. Match the license number, current status, permitted activity, and registered address.
  4. Check the same regulator's enforcement and warning pages for restrictions or public notices.

For HonorFX, the main numbers disclosed by the broker are GB20025826 for Mauritius, MB/21/0072 for Labuan, and 2023-00128 for Saint Lucia. The Labuan entity must also be checked against the 7 September 2026 restriction notice.

How does customer support work?

The broker publishes support channels through its website and client portal. The listed contact details are support@honorfx.com and +971 4 210 5333. The broker's regional pages also advertise live chat and 24/5 customer service. Those channels provide account and platform support, but they do not replace regulator verification.

The customer agreement states that some orders and requests can be sent through the trading terminal or live chat. It also requires clients to send specified account-verification documents from their registered email address when personal data changes. That process shows why support records, ticket numbers, and written confirmations can matter during an account dispute.

Where is the broker actually based?

FXSharp lists Port Louis as headquarters and Mauritius as the home country. The brand also uses a Malaysian legal entity registered in Labuan and a Saint Lucia International Business Company. Its published support telephone number uses the United Arab Emirates country code.

This multi-entity structure means the marketing location and the contracting entity can differ. A trader's legal relationship depends on the company named in the customer agreement, not only the city shown on a contact page. The relevant regulator, complaint route, and available protections therefore depend on which Honor Capital Markets Limited entity actually holds the account.

Account types and bonus terms

The account list includes Standard, Master, ECN, Premium, and Swap-Free accounts. A swap is an overnight financing adjustment, so a swap-free account removes or changes that charge under specific conditions. The official site has published promotional bonus campaigns at different times. Historical bonus terms should not be treated as current unless they remain on the live offer page.

The Malaysian customer agreement provides two operational controls worth noting. A margin call can occur below a 40% margin level, while mandatory position closure can occur at or below 20%. The agreement says a negative balance is normally reset to zero after mandatory closure. It reserves exceptions when the company considers client conduct intentional.

Is HonorFX safe? Evidence-based assessment

The central issue is regulatory status rather than platform availability. The broker offers MT5, high leverage, multiple account types, and a broad instrument list. Those operating features are documented on the broker's own materials. They do not offset a regulator-imposed business restriction or jurisdiction-specific unauthorized-firm warnings.

The latest material development is the 7 September 2026 Labuan FSA restriction affecting Honor Capital Markets Limited. The Mauritius license claim remains unverified in the public-register scan, while CNMV and AMF warnings remain public. The evidence therefore supports a cautious, verification-first reading of any current license claim. Entity name, license number, and current regulator status should all match before any financial decision.

Forex and derivative products carry high leverage; some or all invested capital may be lost. This content is for information only, not investment advice. Verify the broker's current regulation status with the relevant authority's official site before any investment decision.

Frequently asked questions

HonorFX has mixed regulatory status. The broker claims Mauritius FSC Investment Dealer license GB20025826, but that exact active record was not independently confirmed in this review. Its Labuan entity, license MB/21/0072, appears under a Labuan FSA business restriction dated 7 September 2026. Saint Lucia registration 2023-00128 is an IBC registration, not a verified retail investment license.
HonorFX should not be labeled a scam solely from the records reviewed. The documented facts are narrower: CNMV and AMF published unauthorized-service warnings in 2022, and Labuan FSA imposed a business restriction in September 2026. Those findings support a cautious regulatory assessment, while individual fraud or withdrawal allegations remain unproven user claims unless supported by separate evidence.
HonorFX appears in public records from three regulators. Spain's CNMV warned on 17 January 2022 that honorfx.com and Honor Capital Markets Limited were not authorized for specified investment services. France's AMF blacklisted honorfx.com/fr on 20 April 2022. Labuan FSA listed Honor Capital Markets Limited under a business restriction on 7 September 2026.
HonorFX license checks should start with the exact legal entity in the client agreement. Search the regulator's public register for Honor Capital Markets Limited, then match the license number, permitted activity, status, and address. Check GB20025826 with Mauritius FSC, MB/21/0072 with Labuan FSA, and review the Labuan enforcement page for the September 2026 restriction.
HonorFX fund-recovery options depend on the payment method, contracting entity, and country. Possible routes can include a bank transfer recall inquiry, card chargeback process, regulator complaint, local financial ombudsman, police report, or civil claim. These are procedural possibilities, not guaranteed outcomes. Keep account statements, payment records, emails, withdrawal requests, and support tickets as evidence.
