FXLeader review 2026: Defunct forex brand with FCA and Consob regulatory warnings

FXLeader was a Tallinn-based forex and CFD broker operated by Leadernet OÜ, registered in Estonia in 2017 and deleted in 2023. The FCA identified it as unauthorised in the United Kingdom, while Consob later ordered fx-leader.com blocked in Italy; no active trading platform or licensed account model is currently verifiable. Its associated websites are inaccessible, and no current retail trading service can be confirmed.

What is FXLeader?

FXLeader was a forex and CFD (Contract for Difference) brand linked to Leadernet OÜ in Estonia. The company entered the Estonian e-Business Register on October 25, 2017, under registry code 14358998. Its registered location was Tallinn, Estonia, and the FCA later identified Leadernet OÜ as trading under the FXLeader name. The current Estonian registry marks Leadernet OÜ as deleted, so the legal entity no longer appears as an active company.

The official registry records deletion on January 30, 2023. It also shows no active representatives and no active articles of association for the deleted entity. The current registry view does not display historical beneficial-owner information for the deleted company. That limits what can be verified today about ultimate ownership beyond the named operator.

Is FXLeader regulated? Verification check

The regulation record does not show a verified active forex license for the broker. The FCA (UK Financial Conduct Authority) published an unauthorised firm warning for Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader on July 11, 2018. The FCA stated that the firm was not authorised in the United Kingdom. It also said the firm targeted UK consumers (source: FCA Warning List, July 11, 2018). The warning named fxleader.com and fx-leader.com among the associated websites.

The FCA warning also states that customers dealing with the unauthorised firm do not receive the normal UK redress framework. That means no Financial Ombudsman Service route and no Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection through an FCA-authorised relationship. Italy's Consob later ordered access to fx-leader.com blocked for offering financial services without required authorisation (source: Consob press release, October 8, 2020). No active FCA, CySEC, ASIC, or comparable license is verified.

Trading platform verification

Trading platform support cannot be verified from a current official broker site. FXSharp found no confirmed MT4 (MetaTrader 4), MT5 (MetaTrader 5), cTrader, or proprietary platform. MetaQuotes server verification is also absent, so no MetaTrader server can be treated as confirmed. A platform download or login screen by itself would not establish regulation or ownership.

Current website access is another constraint. Both previously associated domains are inaccessible through the live checks used for this review. Without a functioning official site, current platform terms, server names, mobile apps, and software providers cannot be checked against first-party material. Historical platform claims should therefore not be presented as current features.

Red flags and warning signs

The documented warning signs come from regulator and company records rather than anonymous allegations. Three records matter most: the FCA's 2018 unauthorised-firm warning, Consob's 2020 website blocking order, and the Estonian registry deletion in 2023. Together, those records show that the brand lacks a verifiable active operating and licensing framework today.

  • 2018: FCA said Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader was not authorised in the UK.
  • 2020: Consob ordered fx-leader.com blocked for unauthorised financial services.
  • 2023: Estonia's e-Business Register recorded Leadernet OÜ as deleted.
  • Current: No active trading platform or regulated account model is verified.

These findings do not require a separate claim that the brand committed fraud. They establish a narrower point: the public record does not support treating the operation as a currently licensed forex broker.

Minimum deposit

The minimum deposit is not currently verifiable. FXSharp found no confirmed deposit threshold, and the official websites cannot be used to validate a current figure. Deposit requirements can change by account type, payment route, and legal entity, so an old figure would not be reliable for a current review.

The same limitation applies to payment methods and account tiers. No current bank-transfer, card, e-wallet, or crypto funding list is verified from official material. A payment instruction is not proof of a regulated broker relationship. The receiving entity should match an authorised legal entity in the relevant regulator's register.

Regulator warning list check

The warning-list check produces two verified regulatory findings. The FCA lists Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader as unauthorised in the United Kingdom. It first published the warning on July 11, 2018 (source: FCA Warning List, July 11, 2018). Consob identified Leadernet OU among the entities connected with fx-leader.com. It ordered the site blocked on October 8, 2020 (source: Consob press release, October 8, 2020).

A warning entry is different from a license suspension. In this case, the FCA record says the firm was not authorised by the FCA, rather than showing an FCA license that later became suspended. That distinction matters because there is no verified FCA license number to cite or monitor for reinstatement.

What do user complaints say?

User complaint patterns are not verifiable from the primary-source data used here. FXSharp found no current, sourceable aggregate rating or complaint count. The review therefore does not invent withdrawal-delay totals, account-freeze statistics, or support-response scores. Regulatory warnings provide a stronger verified signal than unsourced forum claims.

The FCA warning does explain the consumer-protection consequence of dealing with an unauthorised firm. It states that Financial Ombudsman Service and Financial Services Compensation Scheme protections do not apply in the normal way. That is a documented redress limitation, not a customer-review sentiment score.

How to verify the broker yourself

License verification starts with the legal entity, not the brand name alone. A genuine regulated broker record should match the company name, license or reference number, website, and permitted activities. For this brand, the FCA warning identifies Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader rather than an authorised firm entry.

  1. Search the FCA register and warning list for the exact legal and trading names.
  2. Match the website domain and contact details to the regulator's record.
  3. Check the Estonian e-Business Register for Leadernet OÜ, registry code 14358998.
  4. Confirm whether the company status is active or deleted before relying on corporate claims.
  5. Verify any new claimed regulator directly in that regulator's public register.

A certificate image, badge, or company-registration number is not a substitute for an active financial-services authorization.

Customer support

Customer support is only historically documented, not currently verified as operational. The FCA warning listed a support email and telephone numbers associated with Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader in 2018. The earlier contact details include support@fxleader.com and a UK-format telephone number, but present-day responsiveness is not confirmed.

Support quality cannot be scored from an old contact record. A working mailbox or telephone line also does not establish regulatory status. For financial services, the key verification step is whether the contact details match an authorised entity on the relevant regulator's public register.

Where was the broker actually based?

The verified corporate location is Tallinn, Estonia, based on the company register and the FCA warning. The FCA record listed an address at Friedrich Robert Faehlmanni tänav in Tallinn for Leadernet OÜ. Estonia is an EU jurisdiction, but an Estonian company registration alone is not a financial-services license.

The e-Business Register shows Leadernet OÜ was registered on October 25, 2017, and deleted on January 30, 2023. A deleted company status does not describe every historical activity. It does mean the named operator is no longer an active Estonian legal entity. No replacement licensed operator is verified.

Recovery options if you've already deposited

Fund recovery depends on the payment method, transaction date, bank rules, and the user's jurisdiction. The FCA warning states that the normal UK Financial Ombudsman Service and FSCS routes do not protect dealings with this unauthorised firm. That removes two standard UK safeguards available in many authorised-firm disputes.

Potential procedural routes include contacting the card issuer or bank, preserving payment records, and filing a report with the relevant national authority. A bank can explain whether a card dispute, transfer recall, or fraud-reporting process exists for the specific transaction. Any recovery service that requests another large upfront payment should be verified independently before money or documents are sent.

The current feature set is mostly unverified because the associated sites are inaccessible and the operating company is deleted. The table separates documented corporate and regulatory facts from items that cannot be confirmed today. A blank in the historical marketing record is not filled with an estimate.

Should you avoid FXLeader?

The current record does not support treating FXLeader as an active, authorised forex broker. The FCA published an unauthorised-firm warning in 2018, and Consob ordered fx-leader.com blocked in 2020. Leadernet OÜ, the Estonian operator named in the FCA record, was deleted from the Estonian register in 2023.

No active license, current platform, minimum deposit, account structure, or live corporate operator is verified. The associated websites are also inaccessible through current checks. For a reader evaluating present-day broker status, those gaps are operational facts rather than missing marketing detail.

Forex and derivative products carry high leverage; some or all invested capital may be lost. This content is for information only, not investment advice. Verify the broker's current regulation status with the relevant authority's official site before any investment decision.

FXLeader is documented as unauthorised in the United Kingdom, but this review does not label the brand a scam without a specific legal finding. The FCA warning states that Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader was not authorised. Consob also ordered the associated fx-leader.com website blocked for offering financial services without required authorisation.
FXLeader appears in two verified regulatory actions used for this review. The FCA Warning List entry for Leadernet OÜ t/a FXLeader is dated July 11, 2018. Consob's October 8, 2020 press release names Leadernet OU and fx-leader.com among websites ordered blocked for unauthorised financial services.

Check Estonia's e-Business Register under company code 14358998. Any new license claim should also match the exact entity and license number in that regulator's public register.
