BlackBull Markets review 2026: ECN pricing on MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView

BlackBull Markets is an Auckland, New Zealand-based ECN/STP forex broker founded in 2014. Licensed by the New Zealand FMA under FSP403326 and Seychelles FSA under SD045, it trades on MT4, MT5, cTrader, and TradingView with ECN Standard, ECN Prime, and Prime+ accounts. Serves retail and professional clients across 70+ forex pairs, stocks, CFDs, commodities, futures, and indices.

BlackBull Markets review

What is BlackBull Markets?

BlackBull Markets is a forex and multi-asset broker founded in 2014 and headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. The group uses separate legal entities for different regulated activities and regions. Black Bull Group Limited is the New Zealand entity, while BBG Limited is incorporated in Seychelles. The broker describes its execution model as ECN (Electronic Communication Network) and STP (Straight Through Processing), meaning orders are routed without a traditional dealing-desk model.

The business combines leveraged derivatives with share-investing services. Its derivatives offering includes more than 70 forex pairs plus CFDs (Contracts for Difference), commodities, indices, stocks, futures-related markets, and other instruments. The official site states that associated entities provide access to more than 26,000 tradable instruments. This broad product count does not mean every instrument is available under every entity or account type.

Is BlackBull Markets regulated? Verification check

BlackBull Markets has an active New Zealand regulatory record. The FMA (New Zealand Financial Markets Authority) lists Black Bull Group Limited as an active derivatives issuer under FSP403326. The FMA record states that the licence was granted on August 12, 2020. New Zealand regulation also provides an independent dispute-resolution framework where applicable.

BBG Limited is the Seychelles entity used for investment services outside the New Zealand framework. The FSA (Seychelles Financial Services Authority) documentation identifies BBG Limited, company number 857010-1, under securities dealer licence SD045. Seychelles oversight provides a legal licensing framework. It does not provide a UK-style investor compensation scheme.

The regulatory picture also contains a material UK warning. On April 22, 2026, the FCA (UK Financial Conduct Authority) stated that BlackBull Markets was not authorised by it. The notice said the firm may be targeting UK consumers (source: FCA Warning List, April 22, 2026). The broker's own site also says its services are not intended for United Kingdom residents. The warning does not cancel the active New Zealand licence, but it changes the risk profile for UK-facing activity.

Trading platforms

Trading platform coverage includes MT4 (MetaTrader 4), MT5 (MetaTrader 5), cTrader, and TradingView. The broker also operates BlackBull CopyTrader and BlackBull Invest for separate use cases. Spotware publicly lists BlackBull as a cTrader broker, providing independent confirmation of that platform relationship.

The earlier verification record did not confirm a MetaQuotes-listed BlackBull server, so MT4 and MT5 remain broker-disclosed rather than independently server-verified here. That distinction matters when platform availability is used as an identity check. A branded terminal alone does not establish which regulated entity holds the customer account.

Red flags and warning signs

The main warning signal is jurisdictional rather than a finding that every group entity lacks regulation. The FCA's April 2026 notice says the firm is unauthorised in the United Kingdom (source: FCA Warning List, April 22, 2026). At the same time, the FMA shows the New Zealand derivatives issuer licence as active.

Maximum 1:500 leverage, meaning exposure up to 500 times the account margin, also requires attention to entity and product rules. The official contract specifications show 1:500 on major forex pairs and metals, while several indices and crypto contracts use lower fixed ratios. High leverage magnifies both gains and losses, so the applicable legal entity matters as much as the headline ratio.

Minimum deposit

The minimum deposit for derivatives accounts is $0 according to the broker's current account comparison and support pages. ECN Standard, ECN Prime, and Prime+ all show no account-level funding minimum. The actual payment method can still impose its own floor.

For example, the official funding page lists different minimum transaction sizes by method. Cards commonly start at $50, while some wallet or local methods use different thresholds. This creates a practical difference between a zero account-opening minimum and the smallest deposit a specific payment rail will accept.

Regulator warning list check

The FCA warning is the primary regulator alert identified in the current scan. It was first published and last updated on April 22, 2026, and names www.blackbull.com (source: FCA Warning List, April 22, 2026). The notice says the firm is not authorised by the FCA to provide or promote regulated financial services in the United Kingdom.

New Zealand FMA warnings involving the BlackBull name require a separate reading. The FMA has warned about imposter websites falsely claiming association with licensed Black Bull Group Limited. Those alerts identify impersonation risk, not a cancellation of FSP403326. The active FMA licence and the UK FCA warning therefore describe different regulatory facts.

What do user complaints say?

User feedback is mixed at the issue level even though the aggregate score is high. A public user-aggregate checked on September 19, 2026 showed 4.7/5 from 3,496 reviews. Recent review summaries concentrated positive comments around support speed and problem resolution.

The same public review data also contained complaints involving withdrawal delays, transaction timing, account restrictions, and bonus-related conditions. These are user reports rather than regulator findings, so they do not establish misconduct on their own. The practical value is pattern detection: payment and account-access complaints deserve comparison with the broker's published withdrawal rules.

Withdrawal issues and processing times

Withdrawal processing uses method-specific timelines and a standard internal fee. The broker currently discloses a $5 withdrawal fee for most methods. Bank transfer processing is listed at 1-3 business days, while crypto withdrawals are listed at 1-2 business days.

Card and several wallet methods are described as instant after approval, but approval and compliance checks still occur before release. The broker also applies card refund hierarchy rules, meaning deposited card funds are generally returned before profits use another route. User reports of delays should therefore be separated from the published processing window and from compliance review time.

How to verify the broker for yourself

Licence verification works best when the legal entity and licence number are checked together. A brand name alone can be copied by an unrelated website. The following sequence separates regulated records from lookalike or unauthorised activity:

  1. Search the New Zealand FMA register for Black Bull Group Limited. Confirm FSP403326 shows an active derivatives issuer licence.
  2. Check Seychelles FSA material for BBG Limited. Confirm securities dealer licence SD045 matches the entity handling the account.
  3. Check the FCA Warning List for the April 22, 2026 BlackBull Markets entry before relying on any UK-facing promotion.

The account agreement should identify the same legal entity shown in the relevant regulator record. The payment beneficiary should also correspond with the expected contracting structure. A mismatch between the website, entity, licence number, or beneficiary creates a separate verification problem.

Customer support

Customer support operates through email, phone, WhatsApp, and online support channels. The official site lists support@blackbull.com and the New Zealand phone number +64 9 558 5142. It also advertises 24/7 client support.

Support responsiveness is not a substitute for regulatory verification. Questions about withdrawals, leverage, or account restrictions should be answered against the contract for the specific legal entity. The user-aggregate reviewed on September 19, 2026 was mostly positive about support, while a smaller set of reviews raised payment and account-access concerns.

Where is the broker actually based?

The group's operating headquarters is Auckland, New Zealand, at Level 20, 188 Quay Street. Black Bull Group Limited is incorporated in New Zealand and holds FSP403326. BBG Limited is incorporated in Seychelles and holds SD045.

This structure means headquarters and account jurisdiction are not always the same thing. A customer can interact with an Auckland-based brand while contracting with the Seychelles entity. The official site says it does not accept applications from the United States or Canada. It also states that its offer is not intended for residents of the European Union or United Kingdom.

Account types and bonus terms

Account types include ECN Standard, ECN Prime, and Prime+. A spread is the gap between the bid and ask price, while a pip is a standard forex price increment. ECN Standard starts from 0.8 pips with no separate commission, while ECN Prime and Prime+ advertise spreads from 0.0 pips.

All three core derivatives accounts show leverage up to 1:500 and swap-free availability in selected markets. Swap-free terms can include administrative charges, so they are not equivalent to universally free overnight financing. Prime+ also includes a commission-rebate feature. Promotional or rebate conditions should be read separately from the base trading agreement.

Is BlackBull Markets safe? Honest assessment

The safety assessment depends on which legal entity serves the account and where the customer resides. The New Zealand FMA licence is active, and client funds are stated to be held in segregated accounts at ANZ Bank New Zealand. The Seychelles entity also operates under licence SD045.

The UK position is different because the FCA issued an unauthorised-firm warning in April 2026. The broker also excludes UK residents on its own site. The combination of active non-UK licences and a current FCA warning supports a jurisdiction-specific assessment rather than a single global label.

Forex and derivative products carry high leverage; some or all invested capital may be lost. This content is for information only, not investment advice. Verify the broker's current regulation status with the relevant authority's official site before any investment decision.

Frequently asked questions

BlackBull Markets is regulated through separate entities, but its status is jurisdiction-specific. New Zealand's FMA lists Black Bull Group Limited as an active derivatives issuer under FSP403326, while Seychelles FSA material identifies BBG Limited under SD045. The UK FCA separately warned on April 22, 2026 that BlackBull Markets was unauthorised in the United Kingdom.
BlackBull Markets is not accurately described as wholly unregulated because active and documented licences exist in New Zealand and Seychelles. The FCA warning dated April 22, 2026 concerns unauthorised UK activity and does not state that FSP403326 was revoked. A regulator warning is a material jurisdictional risk signal, but it is not by itself proof of fraud.
BlackBull Markets appears on the UK FCA Warning List in an entry dated April 22, 2026. The FCA says the firm is not authorised by it and may be targeting UK consumers. The warning page is https://www.fca.org.uk/news/warnings/blackbull-markets. New Zealand FMA records separately show FSP403326 as an active derivatives issuer licence.
BlackBull Markets licence verification starts with the legal entity named in the account agreement. Search New Zealand's FMA register for Black Bull Group Limited and FSP403326, then check Seychelles FSA material for BBG Limited and SD045. UK users should also check the FCA Warning List entry dated April 22, 2026 before relying on any UK-facing promotion.
BlackBull Markets is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, while its group uses more than one legal entity. Black Bull Group Limited is the New Zealand entity at Level 20, 188 Quay Street, Auckland, and BBG Limited is incorporated in Seychelles. The contracting entity matters because regulation, dispute routes, and account protections depend on the entity serving the customer.
